After graduating from medical school, Dr. Soin entered into anesthesiology residency at Rush University in Chicago. While at Rush, Dr. Soin was actively engaged in research in both pain management and anesthesia.
He won a first place award for his research while studying the effect of MRIs on patients with spinal cord stimulators. During his time at Rush, he was elected to serve as Vice Chairman and then Chairman of the Illinois States Medical Society's Residents and Fellows Section. After completing residency, he went to the Cleveland Clinic for fellowship training in pain management. At the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Soin mastered the most advanced techniques available for pain management. The Cleveland Clinic is the largest and oldest academic pain management department in the United States, and his training there was superb.
While at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Soin engaged in several research activities. He has authored papers for peer-reviewed medical journals, written textbook chapters in pain management books used to teach other physicians, and been involved with teaching medical students and medical residents the subtle nuances of pain management. Currently, he is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Wright State University Medical School. He has also been recognized as one of America's Top Doctors in Pain Management for 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 and was the winner of the “Patient’s Choice Award” for the past three years - an award given to only the top 1% of physicians. Dr Soin won the "Compassionate Physician Award" in 2010 and he serves on the Board of Directors of the Ohio Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the Board of Directors of Greene Memorial Hospital, and several statewide committees - including acting as the Physician Representative to Pain Management for Medicare. Dr. Soin is triple board-certified in pain management - a distinction held by less than 1% of practicing pain physicians - and he also holds board certifications in anesthesia.
In 2007 Dr. Soin founded the Ohio Pain Clinic, and it has subsequently grown to four offices to serve southwestern Ohio. The Ohio Pain Clinic has achieved recognition as being one the “Best Places to Work” in Dayton as well as the “Rookie Business of the Year 2007” by the Dayton Business Journal.”
Dr. Soin is excited to bring the newest and most advanced techniques to treat pain management to his hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Soin is noted by his colleagues for his strong commitment to ethical patient care and compassion. He practices evidenced-based pain management and avoids the usage of addicting narcotic medications unless all other treatment options have failed..
